Fullback Amass and midfielder Collyer are both regarded highly inside United and there is a belief now is the time for the pair to be playing regular senior football.
A move to the Championship and Wednesday would suit all parties, where Amass and Collyer and would be all but assured of a regular start.
Due to financial issues, Wednesday have been banned from paying transfer fees for new players until 2027, so restricting them to only free transfers and loans.
