Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has been frank in his assessment of the player’s future which looks to be elsewhere this summer as the England international chases down Champions League football.
“if he doesn’t want to sign a contract, then we have to look at it.”
Liverpool have just a few days to secure a deal for the 25 year old however and must act quickly if they want to add him as a defensive option for their campaign which has seen them concede 4 goals in just 2 games so far.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now revealed how much Liverpool are willing to spend on Guehi, whose heart seems to be set on a move to Merseyside.
“Understand Liverpool remain in active talks to sign Marc Guehi immediately.
“#LFC are ready to pay over £30m now to get the deal done… but it depends on Crystal Palace.
“If Palace find a replacement and let him go, Guehi already said yes to the Reds.”
The Palace captain has less than a year remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park and if The Eagles do not sell now then they may have to let him leave for free next year. According to The Athletic, Liverpool do not have a Plan B option in place if they fail to bring Guehi to Anfield which suggests that manager Arne Slot will go all out with a bid to sign him over the next few days.
