Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly in 'great danger' of being sacked by Marseille following their shock exit from the Champions League on Wednesday (January 28).

The French giants were casualties of Benfica’s incredible 4-2 win over Real Madrid, in which goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin scored a 98th minute header.

Trubin’s goal meant Benfica went ahead of Marseille and into the play-offs on goal difference, eliminating the Ligue 1 side from the competition.

According to RMC Sport, De Zerbi, 46, is now in ‘great danger’ of losing his job with the club’s higher ups ready to sack him ahead of their game against Paris FC this weekend.

Marseille would have qualified with a point against Belgian side Club Brugge in their final game, but ultimately lost 3-0.
