Gvardiol has been exceptional for City since joining from RB Leipzig for a whopping £77m in August 2023.
The Croatian has since played a crucial role in the heart of Guardiola's defence, making 120 appearances and chipping in with 23 goal involvements.
Sadly, the 24-year-old has seen his game time restricted in 2025/26 after suffering a broken tibia in Man City's 1-1 draw against Chelsea in January.
Fortunately for the Cityzens, he could make his return for the final game of the campaign against Aston Villa on May 24 and be tied down to a new contract.
According to journalist Nico Schira, Gvardiol is close to signing a new contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030 with the option of a further year.
This is fantastic news for Man City, who dropped five points behind the Gunners in the race for the title after drawing 3-3 against Everton on Monday night.
