Republic of Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni isn't ready to give up on Everton midfielder Darron Gibson.
The Derry man told Trapattoni last August not to consider him because he was still hurting after he saw no game time during Euro 2012.
Trapattoni said: "I call him. I continue to follow him. I don't know what he will wish to do but I will continue to call him.
"Why not? My life is never say never. I don't forget the players from two years ago but they need to also play which is important.
"I saw him in the last game play very well for Everton. He is playing well. He said thanks but at this moment I don't wish to give controversy and I'm not ready at the moment."
