Tottenham defender Romero: Where Postecoglou demands better from me

Tottenham defender Cristian Romero admits he has been working on his discipline.

The center half has spoken to manager Ange Postecoglou about his disciplinary problems.

Romero has missed many games through suspension, but the 25-year-old is back to his best at present.

"He's a great coach and I'm enjoying things greatly under him," Romero said in an interview for club media.

"He has a great playing style and his tactical ideas are very good. We're all enjoying it and buying into the way he plays.

"The fact that the club did this shows it's another step in the right direction, he is providing everything we need to make this step.

“Winning depends on a lot of things, not just the team and the staff, making sure the club as a whole is on the right road. He's given me the hope that I can continue myself and become a better player."

"It's something I've worked on. I've realized I've been picking up too many cards at some points here and there," he added on his discipline.

"When you're a defender, you have to tackle, my style has lent itself to picking up cards in the past.

"Through working on it you can try to eradicate certain things, maybe daft yellow cards for protesting too much, or clashing with someone. With the style of defender I am, those clashes can be unavoidable sometimes if you have a face-off with someone.

"I respect every opponent and team I play against and whatever clash happens it stays on the field. I've been working on it and hopefully eradicating some of those cards."
