Angelo Palombo has declared his commitment to Sampdoria, despite their relegation.
Palombo has told club officials that he wants to remain - even if it jeopardises his place at Euro 2012 with Italy.
"I had the opportunity to leave, but I didn't even think about it for a second," he told Sky Sport 24 on Monday.
"Now we just need to look forward to the future and, if they don't chuck me out, then I'll end my career here.
"The national side? I have spoken to Italy boss Cesare Prandelli and I hope to not lose my place, especially as players are picked on form."
