AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci is delighted to be taking the Italy captaincy.

New Azzurri coach Roberto Mancini has named Bonucci his captain after naming his first squad this week.

Following Andrea Pirlo's testimonial, Bonucci said: "It's a great responsibility, that honours me, but now we just have to think about starting all together because we have written a very ugly page in Italian football.

"So from here we have to start stronger than before."
