England manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Luke Shaw is far away from a Euro 2024 place.
The Manchester United left-back is out injured and faces a race against time to be fit for the summer tournament.
While Shaw is Southgate's first choice left-back, he admits that unless the defender proves his fitness, he will not be in the squad.
Southgate told reporters after a friendly loss to Brazil: "He's going to be right on the edge of the season. We know now to play seven matches in a Euros is highly unlikely."
Shaw has been working with the England squad during this international break to recuperate.
However, he is not ready to play club matches and may only come back with one or two weeks of the season remaining.
