Brighton manager De Zerbi: I can't dwell on past mistakes - we now have Roma

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has put aside his frustrations with the team this week.

The Italian is not happy with how his side have performed in recent matches, especially at the weekend.

De Zerbi saw his team lose 3-0 to Fulham in the Premier League, and they now face Roma in the Europa League.

He stated on a lack of transfers in January: “Before the season started, I thought we could compete in a different way.

“But now I'm wasting time if I speak about it. I am disappointed but it's not important now.

“On Thursday, we play an historic game. We are not big a club. Every day for us is a challenge if we are able to keep this level.

“But I am not (only) speaking about coaches or players. I am speaking about everybody who works for Brighton.

“The club first of all. It is the first time for us that we are competing two years to reach the European positions in the Premier League.

“For the first time in our life we are competing in the (last 16) of the Europa League.

“We have to watch everybody if we are able or we go back to playing one game a week and Wednesday off and we go and play golf.

“It is a challenge every day, every game.

“For me, for my staff for the players, for the analysts, for the people who work in the club, for the medical staff, for the club, for everyone.

“It's sport, it's life. What you did yesterday is not important.

“It is important what you will do tomorrow."
