Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde was satisfied with their 0-0 draw against Barcelona.

Valverde was happy with his players' efforts on the day.

He said, "It's a draw that reminds us of a lot to come from a match as strong as Thursday's. Our week was very emotional and we finished with our tongues hanging out and melted.

"Barça started very well, but little by little we became more competitive. It was a game with many individual disputes. We were playing against the champion. We wanted to compete and we did.

"It's true that they have lost two important players due to injury. Then because of how the game went I think it was a fair draw in a close and difficult game.

"We are a very supportive team, because we have to be like that. We give everything when we have to protect ourselves and we have to have answers because we can't always dominate the games. It's not new, Athletic has always been like that."
