The defending world champions had to come from behind once again this week as they bypassed England to book their place in the World Cup final against Spain this Sunday.
La Roja are now unbeaten in 37 straight games since losing to Colombia in March 2024 and if they continue the record this weekend, they will surpass Italy's Euro 2020 winners and set a new record for the longest-ever unbeaten run in senior men's football.
Ahead of the game, President Milei was asked if he'd travel to the United States to watch the game alongside US President Donald Trump and FIFA president Gianni Infantino which he denied.
"No way. I'm going to keep watching all the games from Olivos," he told El Observador.
"Since it's cold, and I don't turn on the heat, I wear an oil company-branded jacket (for good luck)," Milei explained.
"The day of the Switzerland game, it made me really hot. I took it off, and they scored a goal against us. I put it back on and never took it off again."
Despite his superstition, Milei has said he has offered use of the Casa Rosada, Argentina's presidential palace, for celebrations should the team win Sunday.
