Cristiano Ronaldo will play no part in Al Nassr's clash with Al Riyadh on Monday afternoon, as confirmed by the club.

The 40-year-old is the highest-paid player in history as reports state that he is pocketing an eye-watering £487,671 per day whilst at the club where he is yet to lift any silverware.

Ronaldo has scored 18 goals in 22 games across all competitions this season and is said to be unhappy with the way the PIF (Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia) is managing the club, particularly in regard to transfers.

Now, Al-Nassr has revealed that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star will not be a part of the squad that faces local rivals Al-Riyadh

The 40-year-old is not even among the substitutes for the match as one of the greatest players of all time sits out the game in what could be a protest that may last for a number of weeks.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claim Ronaldo is dissatisfied over apparent favouritism they have shown to rival clubs in the Saudi Pro League over the transfer window such as champions Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo has attracted the likes of Sadio Mane, Kingsley Coman, Marcelo Brozovic and Joao Felix  to Al Nassr, but it seems like this is not enough for the forward who will be off the pitch until the issue is resolved.
