Lucas Paqueta wants to leave West Ham in the January transfer window according to reports who have now stated his asking price.

The Brazil midfielder, 28, wanted a move after he was cleared of spot-fixing charges in July, but the move to Aston Villa was denied. Last summer, Manchester City were close to signing Paqueta for £85M in 2023, but the FA’s investigation into spot-fixing charges put a stop to the deal.

Now, as reported by The Sun, The Hammers want £60M for the former Lyon ace who has ambitions away from the club who look to be destined for relegation this season after a dire start to the campaign.

During the 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest, Paqueta mimicked taking a phone call before hanging up throwing the phone away, wagging his finger, saying ‘no’ and then kissing the West Ham badge in front of the away fans.

The midfielder still has another year left on his contract at the end of the current season, leading to many fans question as to why the price tag isn’t much higher considering his ability and experience.

The 28-year-old has scored just twice this season for the Hammers, who are 19th in the table and look to be in for another campaign battling against relegation. West Ham supporters are planning to stage a protest against the club’s owners at the London Stadium this weekend as the situation only gets worse for the side.
