Tottenham took an early 1-0 lead thanks to a rare goal from midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, just five minutes into the game in North London.
Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers restored parity just after the half hour mark before substitute Emiliano Buendia secured all three points for the visitors in the 77th minute.
The defeat to Villa marks Spurs’ second home Premier League defeat of the season, with their only win in front of their own fans coming in the opening game against newly promoted Burnley.
With three wins from Spurs’ last 18 home league matches, Frank tried his best to explain just what is going wrong.
“I hope I can! Maybe it is not that simple.
“(This) is a game that is a draw. A clear draw and we could have easily won it instead of Villa and then it is a different narrative. So, I look at the performance on the pitch – we did well and I’ll look at the bits we need to improve.”
