Tottenham striker Mathys Tel was delighted with his goal in victory at Leeds United.

Spurs won today's early kickoff 2-1 at Elland Road with Tel and Mohammed Kudus on the mark for visitors.

Tel told Sky Sports: "I am very happy about my first goal. I will say the team, we worked a lot this week. I think I deserved this goal and I am very happy about it.

"I always try to have the opportunity to shoot and I scored today. So I am happy."

On the importance of the win, the Frenchman added: "The opponents were very, very good today. It was a tough game for us. But we fought until the end and we showed great mentality.

"That's why I think we deserved to win this game."
