The Scotland international is not in David Moyes' plans. Given the ongoing injuries to his captain, Séamus Coleman, the manager has preferred to move centre-back Jake O'Brien into the role and has requested a new fullback signing before next Monday.
The Toffees could now pursue Ainsley Maitland-Niles, currently with Lyon.
As such, Patterson could move to Sevilla on-loan for the season. Reports suggest the Seville side have initiated talks with the aim of negotiating a season-long deal.
