Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has opened up on the progress he has made since signing for the club this summer.

The Slovenian international joined the Red Devils from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window in a deal that will end up being worth £73.7M if all add-ons are met. Since then, he has made a slow start to life in the North West as fans wait for him to make an impact.

Sesko made his third Premier League appearance against Burnley and remained goalless under manager Ruben Amorim who was desperate for a striker who could make an impact this summer.

Now, speaking to Ekipa, he revealed that it has been tough to adapt to English football but says he is making progress behind the scenes which will allow him to make more of an impact.

“The level of the matches is certainly much higher, the players and teammates are also at a higher level. After all, English football is at the highest level in the world of football.

“But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, also because I am getting better and faster in every training session, and I am also progressing in my football mentality every day.

“I wanted to move to England and fortunately my wish came true.”

Sesko could be handed a full Premier League debut after the international break against Manchester City after both Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount picked up injuries. The young striker is yet to score in two previous meetings against City while playing for RB Leipzig but could get on the scoresheet if handed 90 minutes from Amorim after a week away from the club.
