Despite a poor season in the Premier League and being hammered by Barcelona in their Champions League round of 16, Newcastle management are standing by Howe.

The Times says they expect to go into next season with Howe in charge. The Toon manager will also be heavily involved in their summer market campaign,
Meanwhile, it's been Toon chief exec David Hopkinson sent a rallying email to staff after the derby defeat at home to Sunderland.
In the message, he said that "there is no point in pretending it doesn’t hurt, it does", but that the Magpies are "building something very real here, a club that is consistently competing at the highest levels of sport".
