The 27-year-old, who joined Burnley after his contract with Ipswich expired at the end of last season, has made just 142 career appearances.
Sky News has now shared details regarding the landmark case filed at London's High Court, which accuses Man United of clinical negligence.
Tuanzebe fractured his spine while with the club, leaving him with what he believes to be an avoidable pain, which has since impacted his career.
"Appropriate treatment plans would, on the balance of probabilities, have resulted in the claimant avoiding the pain and discomfort set out below and would have resulted in him being able to play professional football at elite level without restriction or impediment," the lawsuit claims.
"As it is, although he continues to play at an elite level, this has impacted his career and earnings."
