Manchester City star Vitor Reis has joined Girona whilst youngster Max Alleyne has also left to join Watford for the season.

Earlier this morning, Watford confirmed the signing of City defender Alleyne on a season-long loan in what is their 10th new arrival of the summer. He follows fellow academy star Jahmai Simpson-Pusey’s loan move to Celtic earlier this week as the pair search for consistent first team football.

Alleyne completes Watford loan move

“Seeing Max play, it is clear that the Man City academy is doing a great job,” Watford head coach Paulo Pezzolano said. “Now it’s our job to contribute to Max’s development, help him settle in the professional game and get the best out of him for Watford.

“Max stands out for his technical ability,” said Head Coach Paulo Pezzolano to watfordfc.com. “He’s a very dynamic player and with a really good understanding of the game.

“He’s a very versatile player. Being ambidextrous, he can play on both sides of the field.

“In addition, even though his main position on the field is as a centre-back, he can also play in other positions.”

Reis joins Girona

Now, just hours later Reis has joined Girona on a season-long loan deal as he prepares for life in La Liga. The 19-year-old Brazilian youth international joined City from Palmeiras in January 2025 and started in the FA Cup wins over Leyton Orient and Plymouth Argyle, as well as coming off the bench in a Premier League victory over Leicester City.

The club wished him well for his season ahead with the Spanish side who finished 16th in the league last season, one point away from the relegation zone.

“This summer, he was part of the City squad that travelled to the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup and was in the starting XI for the 2-0 victory over Wydad in our opening game in Group G.

“Everyone at Manchester City wishes Vitor the very best of luck during his time in Spain.”
