Rooney, who operates primarily as a striker but is equally comfortable as a winger, turned away from his marker before his strike took a heavy deflection en route to goal.
The youngster has been on the books at Man United since the age of 11 and was also called up to their Under-19s squad for a tournament in Croatia.
His father Wayne broke into the first team at Everton at the age of 16 before going on to become Man United’s record scorer with 253 goals.
