Leeds United defender Sebastiaan Bornauw felt they were well worth their point for Monday night's 1-1 draw at Everton.

James Justin handed Leeds a first-half lead which was canceled out after the break by Thierno Barry for Everton.

“I think we played a really good first half but we also knew they were going to come out stronger in the second half,” Belgium international Bornauw said.

“In the end, I think it is a good point on the road. I am just looking at ourselves and seeing game by game. I think we controlled it quite well.

“I think they didn’t have maybe one chance before the goal. I think we defended quite well. I am gutted it goes in but I think it was a good defensive performance.

“I think we feel good. I think there is a good understanding between all the defensive players, the offensive players and the midfielders.

“I don’t think today we gave a lot away, maybe one or two chances. Of course, as a centre-back, you always want to keep the zero. But, yeah, in the end, we are happy with the point.

“We just look week by week and next week there is a really big game. I think Elland Road will be buzzing, as we are, so I think that is how we look at it. We are going to try to play our best football and see what happens.

“I think we all became a player to play those big games, for sure, and when you play at home with our fans, we are really looking forward to it.”
