The centre-forward penned a new deal to 2034 last season, though has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent days.
"Can you tell me one club who wouldn’t want Haaland as a dream?” Guardiola said ahead of today's trip to Brentford.
“I understand it’s a dream for all the clubs in the world, if he wasn’t at City it would be a dream to have Erling.
“He has a long contract here and is doing very well, scoring a lot of goals.
“The team help him a lot and are able to make actions to score goals. When he plays better we have more chances, always I want the team to concede less and create more. Then after it’s only a game.
“Football you can create more, concede less and lose the game. It’s the only sport in the world.
“Basketball, golf, handball, tennis, if the statistics are better, you win, 100%. Football? No.
“That’s why when you have to create 19 shots and it’s not enough, create 25, and if it’s not enough, 35.”
On Haaland's 10-year contract, Guardiola also said: “I think Erling’s not stupid enough to sign something he doesn’t want to accomplish, but football, who knows what will happen."
