After his two-goal performance in the friendly win against Switzerland, Nagelsmann enthused: "It was a completely normal situation affecting a young player. He is a human with emotion and must first just learn how to deal with being criticised."
He also said: "Criticism of that force was not justified.
"We got even closer to each other, had many good conversations where he really opened up. He is intelligent and very open and you get a lot again from talking to him.
"He can take a lot from that period and get out of it stronger than ever before."
