Tottenham, Newcastle United and Everton are all vying for Gallagher’s signature as the winter transfer window approaches. The former Chelsea star is reportedly open to leaving Atletico in search of more game time, which has caught the attention of several sides.
Earlier this week, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that “maybe something around 30M euros (£26m)” would be enough to snap up Gallagher, who has scored six goals in 69 appearances for the La Liga side.
United are said to be frontrunners for Gallagher as they prepare to lose Casemiro at the end of his contract in the summer. However, the midfielder admitted himself that he is happy in Spain as he helps the club forge a title run.
"I'm happy, but obviously I want to play as much as possible," the England international said.
"Every footballer would like to be on the pitch for 90 minutes every single game. Obviously, I'm at a world-class club and there's a lot of amazing players. The most important thing is how the team plays and the results we get. At the moment, it's going really well for us."
Gallagher is a quality player who has shown his ability in the Premier League in the past, and a number of sides have thrown their hat in the ring a month before the transfer window opens.
The midfielder moved to Atletico for £34M in the summer of 2024 after being frozen out by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who could see him return to the Premier League in the near future.
