Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe confirmed that Tino Livramento faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off against Arsenal on Sunday.

The English full-back went down awkwardly following a clumsy challenge from William Saliba and required medical attention before leaving the pitch in the 77th minute.

"I am concerned because he's such an important player for us. He's been magnificent at the start of this season. He's a big player, so if we are going to lose him it's going to be a huge blow."

The Magpies poor start to the new season worsened with a home defeat to Arsenal. After six Premier League matches, Eddie Howe’s side have managed just one win and sit 15th in the table.
