The Scotland U21 international made an instant impact due to Rory Watson being unable to feature against his parent club and Maison Campbell being injured to face his former side.
Mahady impressed as Scunthorpe won 3-1 at York on Friday night.
The victory takes Scunthorpe to fourth place on the National League table.
