INEOS’ proposed sale of French side OGC Nice has reportedly fallen through.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS bought the Ligue 1 side back in 2019, promising to break PSG hold on French football.

Last season they narrowly avoided dropping down to Ligue 2 with a two-legged play-off victory of Saint- Etienne.

INEOS have been trying to sell Nice for months having moved on to buy 25% of Man United, but a deal with a prospective American buyer has fallen through, according to Nice-Matin.

Nice had had set a deadline of 15th June to get a deal over the line with potential new investors even visiting the training ground.

It’s understood that INEOS are now preparing to be owners of the club next season, although it remains for sale.
