Nice sporting director Roger Ricort has confirmed that Terem Moffi is expected to leave the Ligue 1 side on a permanent transfer this summer.

The Nigerian spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Porto after slipping down the pecking order at Nice.

The 27-year-old sought an exit following a confrontation involving angry supporters after a defeat to Lorient last November.

Porto opted not to trigger the €8 million buy option in his loan deal, leading to his return. Despite resuming pre-season training, Nice expect Moffi to secure a permanent move before the transfer window closes.

“He is on the list of players we want to leave. He will surely be transferred elsewhere,” Ricort was quoted by GFFN.

“We don’t necessarily respect the man but we will respect the player. At the moment, he knows he won’t be able to play for Nice anymore either.

“I think that would show a lack of respect to our supporters, but so long as he is here, we will try and be proper with him and his agents. When he finds a club, we will shake hands and wish each other good luck.”
