Mendy played out the campaign with the B team, where he impressed and did enough to convince Betis management to deal him in.
Mendy will sign a contract until 2027, will do the preseason under coach Manuel Pellegrini and aims to be the fourth centre-back of the first team.
He will effectively be replacing Riad Chadi, who is leaving for Crystal Palace.
