The Inter Miami is yet to forgive Laporta for the way he was shunted out of the club ahead of joining PSG.
This morning, Laporta revealed one of the most significant flashpoints occurred in 2023, during the Ballon d'Or gala.
"There was also an incident at the Ballon d'Or ceremony where I went to greet him, and he decided we shouldn't greet each other," he recounted.
That gesture revealed a growing distance that ultimately confirmed the damage to their relationship.
Laporta stated that, after that episode, there have been some attempts at reconciliation, although without definitive success so far.
"The relationship isn't what it used to be," he admitted, leaving the door open for a future reconciliation.
Despite everything, he wanted to emphasize the respect and admiration he maintains for the former Barça player: "The relationship is damaged, but he is a legend of Barcelona."
