Confidence has been growing internally in recent weeks that an agreement will be reached, as players, coaching staff, and club executives are all reportedly united in their desire for him to continue in his role.

Carrick has impressed since taking interim charge, winning 10 of his 15 matches and steering Manchester United to Champions League qualification.
