Kylian Mbappe scored a brace against Olympique Marseille in Tuesday’s Champions League clash, reaching a landmark 50 goals in just 64 appearances across all competitions.
The Ligue 1 side had taken an early lead in the Spanish capital, but Mbappe equalized seven minutes later from the penalty spot.
He completed his brace nine minutes from full time, again converting a penalty, despite Real Madrid being reduced to 10 men following Dani Carvajal’s dismissal in the 72nd minute.
Mbappe’s heroics make him the fastest player to reach 50 goals for the club since Cristiano Ronaldo, who hit 51 goals in 54 games back in November 2010.
His prolific scoring underlines his growing influence at the Santiago Bernabéu and, if he maintains this form, he is on track to cement his place in the club’s storied history.
