Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was delighted with their Champions League win at Olympique Marseille.

After being held by Burnley at Anfield on Saturday, Liverpool won 3-0 at the Velodrome on Wednesday night.

Van Dijk said at the final whistle: “A good performance, a good win - and on to the next one.

“It’s very important (to finish in the top eight) as you miss the play-offs, and it helps with the intense programme that we’re having. It’s all down to us again next week, at home. 

"Let’s make sure we’re in the top eight. We've put ourselves in a good position, but that's for next week."

The win marked Van Dijk's 350th appearance for the Reds and he added: “I’m very proud. These things I don’t take for granted. I keep going, and on to the next one.”
