Rico Lewis is one of the most successful 21-year-olds in world football.

Lewis has already won the Premier League twice, the Champions League and two FA Cups since breaking into the first team at Manchester City in 2022.

The versatile defender has also eclipsed a century of appearances for City as well, but only 22 of those came during a frustrating 2025/26 campaign for the youngster.

The Englishman was used sporadically by Pep Guardiola, making just 11 appearances in 403 minutes of top-flight action, with the Spaniard preferring Matheus Nunes as his starting right-back.

Naturally, any player wanting more game time will look to leave the club, and Lewis almost did last summer when Nottingham Forest tried to sign him in a double deal with James McAtee

In the end, the Tricky Trees captured McAtee but not his teammate, as he snubbed a move to the City ground in favour of staying in Manchester before signing a five-year contract in September.

According to ESPN's Rob Dawson, though, Lewis's stance may have changed, with the 21-year-old weighing up his options before deciding whether or not to push for a move elsewhere this summer.
