Wolves boss O'Neil: Bournemouth sacking was NOT harsh

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil has zero regrets about what he achieved at Bournemouth.

O'Neil lost his job at the Cherries over the summer, who replaced him with Andoni Iraola.

O'Neil is proud of achieving what he set out to do when appointed by Bournemouth, which was to avoid relegation.

After beating his old club with Wolves at the weekend, he stated on that sacking: “That's life."

He then added: "The world of football maybe sees my departure from (Cherries) differently to what I did, I would guess, which I understand.

“I'm guessing consensus was probably, 'Oh, that's a harsh one', where was I was like, 'That's life. I've had an opportunity, I've done the best I can with it.'

“What I set myself was to leave the club in a better place than I found it. I left with my head held high and I started my managerial career, and that's all it is. There's never any more than that."
