Mark Gillespie is staying with Newcastle.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies have exercised the one-year option for reserve keeper Gillespie (32).

The Englishman's new contract is valid until 2025.

Meanwhile, Loris Karius (30) is doing everything he can to clinch his desired move to Italy.

Karius has decided not to extend his expiring contract at Newcastle. He wants to play in Serie A as his family lives in Milan.
