West Ham attacker Bowen happy delivering win for Moyes on landmark day

West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen was happy to deliver a win to manager David Moyes on a landmark day.

Moyes marked his 900th game in management with victory over Sheffield United.

Bowen said: "The last couple of results we've had, we've been disappointed that we've lost the two games - and today was a difficult game. Many people saw their result last week and we knew it wasn't going to be as easy as that and that there would be a reaction from them.

"So it was important to get the first goal and then we got the second and then it was about defending our lead. Yes we wanted to score more and put the game to bed but two goals and a clean sheet is the perfect reaction."

On his goal, he said: "It's just instinct, when you get in the box you know where the goal is and it's about hitting the target well with a good finish and I managed to do that.

"I'm just trying to do what I've been trying to do in the last three and a half years since I was brought here - I want to score goals, I've never been shy about that and scoring goals for this club never gets any less special."

On Moyes reaching 900 league games as a manager, Bowen added: "It's a massive achievement for the manager - he loves football, he loves being a manager. He's put his stamp on us this season - last season was disappointing domestically in what we have achieved so this season was about starting strong and we've done that, picked up some really good victories.

"We've got two more games now going into the international break and we want two more wins from those games - those are the standards we've set and the demands we want to reach."
