West Ham have agreed a 10m deal that will see Obiang join Italian outfit Sassuolo, says the Daily Express.

The Equatorial Guinea international will fly straight to Italy from the Hammers' pre-season tour of China to complete the formalities.

Obiang joined West Ham from Sampdoria four years ago and almost joined Fiorentina in January but the deal fell through because the Londoners couldn't find a replacement.

Conte hammered the Croatia midfielder after Saturday's preseason defeat to Manchester United.

"I do not think Perisic fits into the role I request, so right now the attack is the only place he can play in," said Conte referring to the wing-back role.

"There are roles to respect and one cannot change a player's qualities. The feeling I get is negative, so I don't think he can give the team what it needs."

West Ham and Arsenal were linked with Perisic at the beginning of this summer market.

The Evening Chronicle says Bruce is an admirer of the released West Ham centre-forward but wants him to prove his fitness.

The newly appointed head coach has already made checks on Carroll's fitness status with the big striker still recovering from an ankle operation.

Carroll has not made a decision on his future yet but has had offers from abroad.

However, the boyhood Toon fan and former season ticket holder would be interested in a chance to finish his career at home.

Rice featured in defeat to preseason opponents Newcastle United on Saturday.

You need to improve," he said. I don't think you can be happy and content with how I played last season. I'm certainly not. I know I can get better for sure.

There is so much of my game I need to get better at, maybe going forward a bit more; sometimes in my position, I'm just there to sit there and keep things ticking; my tactical side of the game; when to drop in as a centre-half and when to push up there are so many things.

I'm still only 20 years old. I'm enjoying playing every week, I'm learning and I'm trying to get better."

He added: "The conditions were hard to play in, especially on Saturday when we played at five o'clock and it was really hot and sticky. Against Man City it was a bit easier as it was cooler but, like I said, we knew what were getting into when the manager decided to come here.

It's a great tournament and it's tough, but we're going to get fitter and it stands us in good stead for when we go back."

During the trip, West Ham managed just one goal, a Mark Noble penalty against Manchester City, and failed to muster a shot on target against Newcastle.

But Pellegrini said, "In this moment, we have Sebastien Haller who just arrived at the Club and we also have Javier Hernandez and Antonio, who are two players who can also play as a striker.

Until the last day or the last hour of the transfer market, you can make changes but I think, in this moment, with those players we have good options."

West Ham's injury-hit midfielder made just eight appearances last season following his arrival at the Hammers from Arsenal.

Wilshere has been put through his paces during West Ham's pre-season trip to China and believes the hot-house conditions in the Far East have helped his bid for fitness.

Wilshere said: I had a good pre-season last year and I felt good early in the season.

You can train as much as you want, but you only get fitness from playing the games so I want to get as many games as I can to get ready for the season

I felt good last season at the start, but picked up an injury.

All I can do is get fitter each day. I want to play a big part this season and help the team finish as high as we can.

I don't have to tell you how frustrating it was. I wanted to play and I was happy with the way I started, but I missed so much of the season and it was devastating. I missed travelling with the team and being part of it.

But it's behind me now it's a new season. I've had a good couple of weeks and now I just want to push on.

You forget how difficult it is to train and play in these conditions, but when you get back to England you definitely benefit."

Bruce was forced to watch his new side from the stands due to issues with his visa having joined the club's pre-season tour on Thursday.

And after Newcastle ran out 1-0 winners in a poor game for both sides, Bruce was captured on television coverage making a hilarious gaffe to his assistant coaches.

"Good win," Bruce appeared to say to Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence. "Shall we f*** off now?"
