TRIBAL TRENDS - TRANSFERS: Real Madrid want Hazard? Benzema to Arsenal…again? Chelsea in for Calhanoglu?

With the amount of rumours swirling around at this time of year, it is sometimes difficult to decipher the truth.

These are matters of importance.

Fans can hope for a spark to reignite their clubs chances of glory or see their dreams dissipate as their best player walks out the door.

Not to worry however, because here at Tribalfootball, we have broken down the week's hottest transfer rumours, and inform you whether you should believe the paper talk or not.

Here are our top five trending transfer stories for the past week:

Eden Hazard - Chelsea

Clubs Interested:Real Madrid

After a sublime performance throughout Euro2016, Eden Hazard has experienced somewhat of a renaissance under Antonio Conte this season for Chelsea.

The Belgian's influence has helped the Blues sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League.

Ok Diario reports that the 26-year-old has found an admirer in Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman has told Los Blancos president Florentino Perez that he prioritises playmaker Hazard, and not goalkeeping teammate Thibuat Courtios, who has previously been reported as the apple of Zidane's eye.

However, it seems like this deal will be banking on a number of factors, most glaringly the protracted dealings between Madrid and Borussia Dortmund for Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

With Hazard entering the prime of his career, it is hard to see Chelsea letting go of their star man anytime soon.

Likelihood:No Hazard for Zizou

Serge Gnabry - Werder Bremen

Clubs Interested:Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli

Rumours of Serge Gnabry's departure from Werder Bremen will not stay quiet.

This time it is German newspaper Bild, who has reported that Gnabry's former club Arsenal desperately wants him back, with Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli listed as other interested suitors.

Despite the claims, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has categorically said they are not pursuing their former prodigy,

"We have sold Serge Gnabry to Werder Bremen, it looked like Bayern Munich were behind it at the time," he said.

"We do not look to re-sign him."

Likelihood:Not gonna happen. Time to move on…

Karim Benzema - Real Madrid

Clubs Interested:PSG, Arsenal

It seems Real Madrid's two head honchos are clashing over Karim Benzema.

His manager, and fellow countryman, Zizou, loves Benzema but club president Florentino Perez is of a different opinion.

According to Don Balon, Perez has seen enough and feels that this summer could be the time to cash in on Benzema while the price is still high.

Long-time suitors PSG and Arsenal will be licking their lips at the possibility of purchasing a talent like Benzema, but first they must hope that a stern and stubborn Zidane caves in to Perez's demands.

Likelihood: Who knows?! Zizou won't sell. Perez wants to get rid. Let the fun begin!

Andrea Ranocchia - Inter Milan

Clubs Interested: Chelsea, Watford, West Ham United, Swansea City and Hull City

Andrea Ranocchia could very well be on his way to England.

The veteran Inter Milan defender has been told by Inter chief Piero Ausilio that he can depart the club this month.

With West Ham and Watford initially interested, a spanner has been thrown in the works with league leaders Chelsea also joining the party.

It is reported by Sportmediaset that Conte is pushing for a deal to add reinforcements to his defence as he tries to solidify the stranglehold Chelsea have over the Premier League.

With all other factors seemingly sorted, now it is up to Ranocchia if he wants to step out of his comfort zone and play outside of his home country for the first time.

Likelihood:Can see a move. But to Chelsea?

Hakan Calhanoglu - Bayer Leverkusen

Clubs Interested:Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona

Free-kick specialist Hakan Calhanoglu is on his way to Chelsea, according to Fanatik.

Chelsea scouts have watched the 22-year old Turkish international, and now the London club is prepared to launch a £15million bid.

Calhanoglu has brought about comparisons with David Beckham with his unbelievable set pieces since his move to Leverkusen from Hamburg in 2014.

Despite his obvious talents, it is hard to believe that Calhanoglu is anything but a luxury for Chelsea boss Conte, but the Italian is looking to replace Oscar.

Has also been linked with Manchester United, and to a lesser extent Barcelona, but Stamford Bridge looks a more likely option.

Likelihood:This could Hakan…;)
