Tottenham ace Kane: Shearer needn't worry just yet

England captain Harry Kane joked that he has Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer worried.

The ex-Magpies forward has the record for scoring the most goals in Premier League history.

However, Kane is set on becoming the Premier League's all-time top scorer before he retires, as he is only 65 goals behind Shearer.

"Maybe!" he told UMM.

"I've scored plenty of Premier League goals. I'm hoping to score plenty more and it's something that a lot of people talk about. Every time I seem to score in the Premier League, people are asking me about getting closer to Shearer's record, but there is still a fair way to go.

"There are still a few years, for sure, but I can be playing for at least six, seven more years if I stay fit and healthy. If that's the case, I feel I would be able to achieve that but, in football, anything can happen and you can't get too far ahead of yourself. I don't like to think too far into the future. We will see what happens but I'm on the right path."
