Stoke City assistant boss Dave Kemp says new signing Dave Kitson is already impressing the club's coaching staff.

"We had our first training session today and I thought Dave did very well," said Kemp. "He only signed on Friday so it is a great chance for us to take a look at him and see what sort of lad he is.

"He has settled in really well to be honest, and the lads have taken to him straight away," he said.

Kemp warned that the players will have to brace themselves for a high-intensity trip to Austria this week as the club prepare for their Premier League induction.

"It's good for the team to come away," he said. "It's a very serious week and we will be working with the players very hard as we continue to prepare for the new season."
