Saint Etienne and Nantes are chasing Newcastle United attacker Yoann Gouffran.

The Daily Star Sunday says Gouffran, 29, has already been told he has no future with Newcastle as Steve McClaren reshapes his squad.

The rapid development of forward Ayoze Perez, 22, has seen Gouffran drop off the first team map.

A return to France this week is now being mooted for the former Bordeaux star.
