Former Premier League manager Alan Pardew believes Everton have a tough season ahead of them.
The Toffees had started the campaign with some spark under Sean Dyche, but have no points after two games.
As they chase Southampton forward Che Adams, Pardew admits he is concerned about their situation at present.
"I saw Sean Dyche after the season and he was so relieved that they got over the line, and he felt that they were desperately short, I know that," Pardew told talkSPORT on Monday.
"But there's no one who has really come in there. You can't take a team where it can't go if you haven't got the personnel.
"I don't know if Che Adams is the right one, but they cannot afford to make a mistake on the next one or two signings they bring in, otherwise their season is going to be very, very difficult."
