Man City boss Guardiola warns his players: Are we really so good when Lukaku misses from 2m out?

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken of motivating his players after last season's Treble.

Guardiola admits he leans on the small margins between victory and defeat to keep his players focused.

He said at a function in Italy last night: “I want to be loved. Everything we do is to be loved, I fight for that every day. They have to fight among themselves, I don't care, it's a business but the performance must be at its best.

"Then you lose: never mind, you win next week. Now we've won the Treble, what do we do? Do we work hard at it or do we try to win or do we sit back and see how good we were when Lukaku missed from two metres? Or when Courtois stopped him with his studs."

“We train to get to the match well. I saw many players who trained well and then took it out on themselves. We eat well, we work well, then the match arrives. Do you want to go dancing until 4 with your girlfriend? Very good, but you have to arrive well. I notice it, it's a fight between them. Don't those who are talented run and let others do it? No, it doesn't work like that."
