The 19-year-old, who left Manchester City for 7million in 2017, has caught the eye of Europe's top clubs since making the switch to Germany.

The Daily Mail says the new campaign is set to be the England international's last with Lucien Favre's side.

The Bundesliga club know they will struggle to keep Sancho beyond this season and have already started their search for a suitable replacement.

It is claimed that former side City and Manchester United are among the clubs who are set to join the race for the teenager, who is also attracting interest from other leading sides across the continent.

The 23-year-old is expected to miss most of the season after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament during City's Community Shield win over Liverpool a fortnight ago.

With the winger now set to undergo knee surgery in Austria this weekend, there is a possibility that the long injury lay-off could impact his chances of representing his country at Euro 2020.

We were very sad and downcast when we heard about it," Low told DAZN.

I had contact with Leroy. For him and his situation, of course, it was the worst possible time.

We hope he will come back as soon as possible. He is a player of incredible quality and we wish him all the best.

He will make it for the European Championship."

Cancelo joined late in the transfer window from Juventus, and was an unused substitute three days later in the opening day demolition of West Ham.

He told the club's website: Kyle Walker is a great player, very fast, very strong physically. I think we have different skills and I think that can help in the competition inside the squad. In the long term, it's going to be good for City to have two great players in every position.

"I'm really looking forward to make my debut in front of our fans and see the atmosphere," he explained.

"I had the chance to see the stadium inside and it's beautiful. I'm sure there will be a great atmosphere tomorrow, as I have been told the fans are amazing here."

Guardiola concedes the fullback is well back in his plans.

He explained, "What I want is for Benjamin to be fit, to be ready for training sessions in a week, or the week after. That's the target. And afterwards his specific qualities will help us. When he has played, he has played good.

"But he needs to play - he has been almost two years out, came back, and after out, and we need him for our movement, our rhythm for many things we want to do. The first target is be fit rather than to play. To train regularly for a month then he has a chance to play."

Lampard spent time with Manchester City and New York City FC before hanging up the boots.

He told Sky Sports: "I always thought I would finish my career at Chelsea but when it was decided I would be moving on because they wanted to make changes in the squad, that obviously opened up a different path for me.

"Looking back, that was positive because I had two big experiences - one in Manchester for a year and another in New York for 18 months.

"I formed a lot of my ideas about how I wanted to manage in those later years of my career because you think more as you get older and you assess more. When I watched football, I would watch managers intently to see the things that are important to them. I have huge respect for Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino now."

Mourinho sparked some controversy by declaring Manchester City B could win the league.

Pochettino said: "I love Mo (Mourinho).

We all know he is so clever, he is so sarcastic sometimes, that is why the is one of the best managers in the world.

I respect his opinion. I am grateful, too, because a coach like Mourinho believing in our potential to be a contender is important.

We have our belief and our faith in us, but that compliment helps us to believe that little bit more, of course."

Bayern have pursued a deal for Sane all summer, but it now appears off after the winger's ACL injury.

Hitzfeld is convinced City were ready to sell Sane before he broke down in the Community Shield - and says the player should've spoken out.

"It was not correct on San's part that he was not clear with neither Bayern nor Manchester City," Hitzfeld tells Blick, who also insists Pep Guardiola shouldn't have selected him for the defeat of Liverpool.

"I wouldn't have done that, but if your club is about to make such a big deal, then you can't play him in a pretty meaningless match."

Sane, who suffered anterior cruciate knee ligament damage in City's Community Shield win over Liverpool a fortnight ago, was due to undergo surgery at the hands of Barcelona-based specialist Dr Ramon Cugat.

Istead decided to allow Professor Christian Fink, based in Innsbruck, Austria, to perform the knee surgery this weekend, rather than Dr Cugat, who has worked with Guardiola for more than a decade, says the Mirror.

Fink works with the Germany national team, and has also recently treated Bayern Munich's 75million new signing Lucas Hernandez.

City host Tottenham on Saturday, with Guardiola hailing Mauricio Pochettino's side as the second best in Europe" after reaching last season's Champions League final.

How good are they?" pondered the Spaniard. My words and my opinion on them? They are the second best team in Europe. For me, that's enough.

Since I came here to England, every season they were a real contender.

In my first season, they finished second. In the last two seasons, they didn't win it, but always they were tough, tough games.

I said from the first day, when we played at White Hart Lane and lost 2-0, about the capacity, quality and possibilities of this team, the manager and the club.

They are a strong team, a good team."
