LAFC keeper Lloris: Last 6 months at Tottenham was difficult

Former Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris admits his last six months with the club were difficult.

Lloris made a winning debut for LAFC yesterday against Seattle Sounders.

He told The Athletic: "Let's be honest, the last six months have been difficult. When you are a professional footballer, when you you wake up in the morning and you set goals.

"During this period I trained every day without any real goal and I missed the competition. At the same time, I tried to take things in a positive way: I spent more time with the coaching staff and my family and organised my life for the future. I didn't want to waste time because I had two injuries in the first half of 2023, so I'm well trained."

With the departure of Harry Kane last summer, Tottenham turned the page by also giving up Lloris, who was replaced by Guglielmo Vicario.

"It was really interesting to be at the new Tottenham. I participated in every training session and in the pre-analysis and post match. He added a lot to my football knowledge: Ange Postecoglou has his own vision and a defined approach to football, it was really interesting to see him up close."
