Juventus managing director of revenue and football development Francesco Calvo admits the Premier League's spending power is "scary".

Calvo says West Ham's signing of Angelo Ogbonna should've been the wake-up call for Serie A.

He told Calcio e Finanza: "It's scary to think that the last English team earns more than the first Italian team.

"We always talk about the top five leagues in Europe, but in reality there is only one - England.

"It is followed by Spain, and then three more - Italy, France and Germany."
