FA CUP FIFTH ROUND WRAP: Fulham hit four past Nott County but Villa need late goal to force replay at Palace

Notts County failed to take their early chances as Fulham ran out 4-0 winners at Craven Cottage, whilst Aston Villa twice had to come from behind against Crystal Palace. Notts County played well in the first half but ended upon the wrong side of a 4-0 scoreline against PremiershipFulham.

The Cottagers went in at the break two goals to the good courtesy of Simon Davies and Bobby Zamora.

The second half was a nightmare for the League Two outfit as Damien Duff and Stefano Okaka added to the scoreline leaving County to concentrate on avoiding a high court winding up order.

Meanwhile at Selhurst Park another team in administration, Crystal Palace, twice took the lead against Aston Villa, only for their Premiership opposition to peg them back for a replay at Villa Park.

All the goals came from set pieces as Palace more than matched their more illustrious opposition.

Palace went ahead when Johannes Ertl headed past Brad Friedel but with Villa rocking James Collins quickly nodded the visitor's level from Stewart Downing's free-kick.

With the rain pouring down Darren Ambrose looked to have won it with a splendid free-kick from 36 yards and he then headed on to the bar.

But Villa pressed in the closing stages and Stiliyan Petrov's diving header from Downing's corner on 87 minutes saved the Premier League side's blushes.
